Some require owner-submitted annual checklists, some operate municipal private-pond inspection programs, and others tie inspection frequency to a recorded maintenance agreement or approved stormwater plan.

South Carolina construction stormwater permits require the approved SWPPP to be implemented and inspected throughout active construction. Inspection frequency and qualifications depend on project size, permit conditions, and the responsible jurisdiction.
The current South Carolina permit generally requires active projects disturbing more than 2 acres to be inspected at least once per calendar week, with no more than 9 days between inspections, by personnel meeting the applicable qualification criteria.
Primary post-construction coverage includes Lexington, Richland, Kershaw, and Aiken County communities, including Lexington, Columbia, Camden, and Aiken. Construction project availability may extend beyond these areas depending on scope.
